Gert Hoogland is a qualified medical doctor (University of Amsterdam). He holds a Propedeuse Law diploma from Erasmus University Rotterdam and an MBA from Insead.

Having begun his pharma industry career in the Netherlands and the USA, he was CEO of Schering (New Zealand) for five years before taking over as CEO of Schering (South Africa). He founded his first pharma JV in South Africa in 1994 (United Pharmaceutical Marketing Pty Ltd), and his second, Pharmaplan Pty Ltd, in 1997. Pharmaplan became South Africa’s premier specialty pharma company, representing blue chip R&D-based principals such as Biogen-IDEC, Cephalon and many others from all continents, as well as leading specialty generic players such as Sun Pharma, Hospira, etc.

When Pharmaplan was acquired by Paladin Laboratories Inc. of Montreal in 2012 and merged into Litha Healthcare, he became head of Litha’s pharma interests.

Gert Hoogland founded HealthCrest AG Zug, Switzerland, in 2013, where he is currently CEO.

Howard Rosen

Howard Rosen studied law at Exeter College, Oxford University. After qualifying as an English solicitor he worked in private practice and as an in-house counsel in London and Switzerland for international leasing companies specialising in the legal and tax aspects of international finance.

He established Howard Rosen Solicitors, an English law firm, in Zug, Switzerland, in 1989, and specialises in international commercial and finance law, international leasing law, and trusts. He is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, the International Bar Association and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. A correspondent of Unidroit and an associate member of the Institute of Directors, London, he is also a former president of the British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and the Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe (COBCOE). As well as being the principal of Howard Rosen Solicitors, he is managing director of the trust company Rosetrust AG, and chairman of HealthCrest AG in Zug.

In the 2003 Queen's Birthday Honours, Howard Rosen was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to British business in Switzerland.
